They were married in 1967. Together they ministered in youth and children's ministy while finishing college. Pastor Sullivan graduated from Southeastern College in 1970, and entered in full time ministry. After pastoring in Texas and Louisiana, he returned to the Mobile area. Pastor Sullivan founded Living Word Church in November of 1979. They have two children, Brad and Bridgette, who are both involved in pastoral ministry.
Pastor Sullivan has a heart of dedication to serve the house of God and the people of God. This has been the vision for his family and has become the vision for Living Word Church. He encourages families that they too can reap the benefits of serving God faithfully and enjoy God's promise of household salvation. He preaches that God's redemptive work in Christ enables the believer to experience the righteousness of God and the empowerment to be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. He emphasizes world missions and the church's responsibility to the Great Commission. He has ministered and sent ministry teams overseas to India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. Living Word Church supports on a monthly basis numerous missionary ministries in North and South America, Africa, and Asia.
Pastors Brad and Mary Sullivan serve as the Co-Pastors of Living Word Church. Growing up in a pastor's home, Brad learned the value of faithfulness to God and the reward of serving God's people. That experience birthed a passion in him to serve God by serving the Body of Christ in ministry. Brad entered into ministry by joining the Living Word Church staff in July of 1995 as a college freshman. In 1999, he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from the University of Mobile, receiving the School of Religion Award upon graduation. He received his ministerial ordination in 2000 and was joined in marriage and ministry to his wife Mary in 2001. Mary received her degree in Supportive Role Ministries from Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Pastor Brad oversees the ministry functions of the church, serves in administrative capacities and has an active role in the pulpit ministry. Mary oversees the Kids Zone Children's Ministry and serves in various leadership capacities in the church. In addition to his pastoral ministry, Brad ministers as an evangelist nationally and internationally through Brad Sullivan Ministries. Brad and Mary are the proud parents of one son, Slade. As a family they are dedicated to faithful ministry in the Kingdom of God, and seek to instill those principles in Slade's life so that he will be equipped to carry on the mantle of ministry in the next generation.
