Living Word Church

Living Word Church was born out of a desire to worship God and preach the gospel in an atmosphere of spiritual liberty. Pastors Jerry and Janice Sullivan founded the church together with young couples in their home in November of 1979. The church was started with a focus on spiritual growth and development with the theme "transformed into the image of Chirst" (2 Corinthians 3:18). Soon, the church began to meet in a storefront in Grand Bay, Alabama. Later the church purchased property and moved to a location on Old Pascagoula Road. Family ministry was at the heart of the church's establishment. This led to the founding of Living Word Academy in 1983. In August of 1995, the church purchased 8 acres and an existing building. After renovating the building, the church was relocated to its current location on Dawes Road in west Mobile.

Since then, God has blessed the church with the adjoining 12 acres of land. A new facility is currently under construction. The vision is to develop a campus on these 20 acres that will house a youth center, provide room for the expansion of the school and daycare, provide adequate space for the ministries of the church, as well as, athletic and recreational facilities for community involvement. The new building is a 20,000 square foot facility. It will house our new 500 seat sanctuary, nurseries and church offices downstairs and the children's ministries and Sunday school upstairs.

To create a community where individuals and families can experience the life changing power of the Gospel of Christ and the presence of the Holy Spirit through Teaching, Worship, Fellowship & Outreach.

In the Bible as the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.
In one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His substitutionary death, in His spiritual and bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return to this earth.
In the new birth by faith in the work of Christ, through His death and resurrection, is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
In the redemptive work of Christ that provides healing for the human body in response to faith.
In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by who's indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
In the baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:1-4, is given to believers who ask for it.
In the Hope of Glory, the presence of Christ-life indwelling the Christian, enabling him to reach spiritual maturity.
In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.
In the rapture of the Church at Christ's coming!
